Important Information About the Government Funding and Fees

The government funding we receive is designed to cover only the basic cost of providing childcare. It does not cover many essential business costs associated with running a high-quality nursery. These costs include:

• Highly qualified staff wages and training
• Rent
• Utility bills
• Nutritious meals and snacks
• Consumable items like arts and crafts materials
• Insurance
• Maintaining all of our extensive outdoor areas
• Special events, educational outings, and enrichment activities (e.g., mobile farms, dance, or football sessions).  For these enrichment activities, we kindly ask for a voluntary donation to help us cover the costs.
• And more..

We do not charge a ‘top up’ fee to help to cover these costs but we do charge for the meals and snacks that we provide.

Meals and Snacks

Meal and snack times are more than just a meal.  Helping children develop positive eating habits early on is one of the best things you can do for their future. The foods they are exposed to now will shape their preferences and choices as they grow up, directly influencing their long-term health, including their weight and oral health.

To ensure the safety and well-being of all children, we do not permit packed lunches. This is due to several important factors:

• We do not have the facilities to safely store packed lunches, in line with environmental health regulations.
• We provide balanced, nutritious home cooked meals that meet government dietary guidelines.
• Crucially, we have children with severe food allergies. By providing all meals ourselves, we can maintain strict control over all food in the nursery, ensuring the safety of every child.

Therefore, there is a separate charge for your child’s meals and snacks. Fees are also applied for any sessions that extend beyond the funded hours.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation, which allows us to continue to run our nursery to the highest quality and provide an outstanding safe and enriching environment for all children.

Funded Early Years Education

We offer a variety of funded education options. Please note that we claim funding for 38 weeks of the year and do not offer “stretched” funding.

Day Care All-Year-Round Provision (0 – 3 Years)

In our Baby Room (0–2s) and Toddler Room (2–3s), we provide year-round care only. Sessions are available in 5-hour or 10-hour blocks (8am–1pm, 1pm–6pm, or 8am–6pm).

• Funding: We claim for the hours your child attends during the 38 weeks of term time.
• Costs: Any hours exceeding 30 per week, as well as all childcare during holiday periods, are charged at our full standard rate.
• Snacks/Meals: On funded days, the following daily charges apply:
  • Morning (8am–1pm): £8 (Includes breakfast, snack, and a nutritious lunch)
  • Afternoon (1pm–6pm): £6 (Includes afternoon snack and tea)
  • Full Day (8am–6pm): £12 (Includes all meals and snacks)

Once your child moves into Nursery School, you may choose between term-time only or all-year-round attendance and the delivery differs dues to the sessions differing.

Term-Time and Funded Children Only (Nursery Twos, 2–3 Years)

• Funding: 15 hours per week (either 5 mornings 8:45am–11:45am or 5 afternoons 12:45pm–3:45pm).
• Note: These sessions are fixed and cannot be extended.
• Cost: £3 per week for snacks.

Nursery School Universal 15-Hour Funding (3+ Years)

Available to every child the term after their third birthday.

• Funding:  15 hours per week (either 5 mornings 8:45am–11:45am or 5 afternoons 12:45pm–3:45pm).
• Extras: Wrap-around care may be available upon request.
• Cost: A £3 weekly snack charge applies.

30-Hour Funded Childcare (3+ Years)

For eligible families, 30-hour sessions differ from Day Care hours:

• Delivery: 8:45am–2:45pm (morning-based) or 9:45am–3:45pm (afternoon-based).
• Meals: A charge of £4 per day applies for a hot lunch.
• Add-ons: Breakfast Club (8am – 8.45am,) and Afterschool Club (3.45pm – 6pm) are available for an additional fee. You may also request a School Day (8:45am–3:45pm) for an extra charge, as this exceeds the 30-hour limit.

Options for meal charges can be discussed with management

We also offer childcare to non-funded families of children from 6 weeks of age to 5 years old.
